For santri who have graduated from pesantren who want to continue their education to higher education, the Ministry of Religious Affairs' Outstanding Santri Scholarship Program (PBSB) is a golden opportunity that should not be missed. This program is designed to support outstanding santris so that they can earn a bachelor's degree at various renowned universities in the country. In 2025, PBSB is reopened and presents a great opportunity for the young generation of pesantren to develop their intellectual and spiritual capacities in a balanced manner.

What is PBSB Scholarships

PBSB is a full scholarship program for undergraduate level aimed at:

• MA / SMA / SMK graduates who are under the auspices of Islamic boarding schools,
• Graduates of Ulya Formal Early Childhood Education (PDF),
• Graduates of Muadalah Education Unit,
• Package C graduates from Islamic boarding schools.

This program not only pays for tuition fees, but also equips santri with insights into nationality, moderate Islamicity, and leadership, to produce a generation of superior santri who are ready to contribute significantly to society.

PBSB Registration Requirements

To be able to register for PBSB, students must fulfill the following criteria:

• Indonesian citizen.
• Students come from educational units under the pesantren environment registered with the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
• Have stayed in the pesantren for at least 3 consecutive years.
• Have Arabic language skills and understand the yellowclassical books.
• Demonstrate commitment to Islamic values, nationalism, and integrity.
• Have academic and non-academic achievements.

How To Register

1. Registration is done online through the official website https://pendaftaran-beasiswa.kemenag.go.id/pbsb
2. Registration by pesantren that are already registered in EMIS.
3. Data entry by santri through their respective accounts.
4. Uploading important documents such as ID cards, certificates, statement letters, report cards, and recommendation letters.
5. Active monitoring of information by santri through their accounts and the official website.

Requirements Document

Some of the main documents that must be prepared include:

• Scan of ID card and family card
• Diploma/SKL
• Statement of integrity
• Motivational essay (personal statement)
• Last one year report card
• Letter of recommendation and boarding school letter
• Proof of admission selection
• Certificate of achievement (if any)

PBSB Selection Schedule

• April 21 - May 31, 2025: Online registration
• June 1 - 7, 2025: Administrative selection
• June 10, 2025: Announcement of stage 1
• June 13 - 25, 2025: Electronic-based test
• June 29 - July 15, 2025: Interview test
• July 31, 2025: Graduation announcement
• August 2025: Orientation of prospective recipients
